Luxury interiors can be found in many places but today we will get to know HBA in Hong Kong, which handles the creation of many well-known hotels and residences. Hirsch Bedner Associates or HBA is a world-leading hospitality design firm that counts 56 years of experience.

HBA is responsible for the creation of boutique hotels, urban resorts spas, world-class residences, restaurants and casinos. Nowadays, it has 23 offices spread across 4 continents and it counts with more than 1,400 designers. HBA’s philosophy is “to create a unique sense of place”. Inside HBA, they have many design divisions, including studio HBA, HBA Residential, HBA architecture, HBA graphics, among others.
Each HBA is different and seeks its inspiration from the location resulting in unique and culture inspired interiors. Mathew Lui and Federico Masin are responsible for the HBA Hong Kong office and constantly infuses various young design talents.
Elements such as the hundred years old pine tree and other custom made elements were added to give a calm and zen feeling. Since reading is very important in Taiwan, a Library Lounge was created with Tatami seatings, and the residence also has a fitness centre and a pool.
The Royal Plaza Hotel located in Hong Kong was designed as a retreat destination. The project was inspired by nature and the railway that surrounds the hotel. These luxury interiors provide an escape from the busy city of Hong Kong.
Ultima is a luxury residence with 520 apartments located in Hong Kong. HBA Hong Kong got inspired by the luxury yachts in the near harbour.
Located in the Kwu Tung area, the Eden Manor is right next to Hong Kong Golf Club. In this project, HBA used the course view and designed a full-view that allow for a brighter interior design.
The Foshan Heguang clubhouse was inspired by the landscape that surrounds it. TThis Clubhouse works as a retreat where people can escape from the busy lifestyle of the city and search fr inner peace. The style used here is a clean contemporary and it definitely works to turn this space into a luxury interior.
The Bund 1898 is made to be a young interior design project. Elements such as gold metals, crystals and art pieces turn this space into a luxury residence.
Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing located in Beijing is a modern luxury hotel. In this project, they designed a series of courtyard rooms such as the zen cafe or the guest rooms with private gardens. Although the style is definitely modern, we can see some Chinese elements that give a distinct look to this hotel.
Just as the name implies, this mansion was inspired by the philosophy and aesthetics of the Song dynasty. The interior space is minimalist and it doesn’t use decorative elements but instead, its focus is on composition and lighting effect.
Since Hangzhou is the region of poets, HBA drew inspiration from this and created a space that allows moments of focused work and leisure, as a poet would do while composing and creating. The elements inside the hotel in each division are local elements such as willow trees and traditional paper painting.
Vanke Qingdao Residence is a luxury project that has the finest elements. This space is no different from a Hotel since it has the same comfort and luxury. The kitchen, living room and dining area are all open spaces and some art elements were added. HBA uses a warm and fresh colour palette to turn this into luxury interiors.
