The Georges Pompidou center is born following the wants of the french president Georges Pompidou, who was a true admirator of contemporary art. The museum was inaugurated in 1977 and welcomed 3.3 million of visitors in 2016. The collection inside the museum is one of the three biggest collection of contemporary art of the world after the one of the Museum of Modern Art of New York and the Tate Modern of London. The building of 103 000 quarter meters is a piece of art in itself. It was created by 3 foreign architects, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini that imaginated this huge and colourfull metal structure.

The building of the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine was built during the late 19th century and is the only building entirely dedicated to the history of the french monuments. The french architect Eugène Viollet-le-duc wanted, thanks to it, to explain the medieval architecture by the way of real size sculpture of part of historical monuments. In 1937, the building is baptised “Museum of the monuments” and finally, in 2007, after 10 years of buildings work the museum open again under the name of Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine. During all of those years, the aim of the building stayed the same, explaining the french architecture to thousands of visitors.

Located on the top of one of those Haussmanian building, under a glass roof, the Kong restaurant is a piece of art in itself. La cité de la mode et du design is a surprising place of 15 000 quarter meters that welcome clubbers, families, students, sportives and professionnals at the same time. In total, 1 million of visitors come to explore the two museums of the Cité de la mode et du design each years. The building is composed by the french institute of fashion that opened in 2008, and by the Art-ludique museum dedicated to entertainment that opened in 2013. The place welcome hundreds of events each years, linked with sports like the Gay games, art or fashion like the Spinexpo last month.
