Luxury Interior Design describes Katharine Pooley, one of the very best interior designers working internationally. Recently named ‘British Interior Designer of the Decade’ & ‘International Designer in Asia of the Year’, and ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’.
Her Knightsbridge design studio was established over 15 years ago and create luxury interior designs for the most discerning clients.
In 2017 Katharine moved the Interior Design & Interior Architectural design teams from the original Walton Street Studio to their actual location at 37 Ixworth Place in Chelsea.
Katharine has successfully created an exceptional light and modern space to inspire the conception, development and creation of truly cutting edge design.

This family home had Katharine Pooley undertook the complete redesign of the interior, including all furniture, fittings and finishes.
This family home is the epitome of cosiness. The clients are a young couple who wanted to retain a ‘country’ feel but make it feel young and fresh. All aspects of interior design were carried out, including all finishes, furniture and fabrics comprising many special one-off and bespoke pieces.
Egerton Crescent is commonly regarded as one of the finest addresses in Knightsbridge, it’s a very private oasis in the heart of the city.
The client wanted a comfortable and welcoming home for family life but also a sophisticated and classic entertaining space. A peaceful, tonal palette was used fusing white portland stone with soft dove grey marble.
Previously an important ambassador’s residence, it was purchased for full renovation by an existing client.
One of Katharine’s most highly detailed and more opulent interiors, every facet of this jewel of a property has been designed to be reinstated, refurbished or created anew for a client with tremendous vision.
A truly magnificent home where the properties interior was meticulously refurbished and designed. The proportions and ceiling heights of the principal rooms are superb and the drawing-room is especially notable with its exquisite marble fireplace.
Marble bathrooms, the stunning bronze lacquer kitchen, and chevron parquet floors throughout complete a highly luxurious picture of refined elegance.
This stunning property based in central Kuwait City features an internal courtyard as well as extensive gardens.
Their brief was to create a lavish but tranquil family home where the family can entertain and showcase an extensive collection of artefacts and antiques collected over the years in the Far East.
This rare gem of a property in the centre of Mayfair consists of 7 floors of property, including a basement and a roof terrace. The redesign included extensive building works and project management with features including a glass lift shaft, several bespoke chandeliers, hand-painted and embroidered wallpapers and complete designs for all spaces, including 7 bathrooms and a white onyx spa.
For this project, the client’s brief was to create a feminine property with touches of classical in amongst the contemporary. This was accomplished by using soft pastel tones throughout accompanied by intriguing and delicate finishes such as selenite and onyx.
A wonderful residential interior architectural design development completed by Katharine Pooley introducing “The Clarence at St James House, London”.
The final design has a quintessentially English feel updated to reflect the requirements of the international global elite. Katharine’s brief was to transform the magnificent building into an elegant residence and return it from the dilapidated office building it had become to its original splendour.
The Pearl is a magnificent contemporary coastal villa set against the sapphire crystal clear waters of the Persian Gulf. Masterminded by Katharine and her team over four years, every detail of the interior and architectural design exists in perfect harmony.
The finished design exudes a perfect balance of space, light and luxurious detail and showcases the best of British craftsmanship in an international setting.
