The multidisciplinary design firm Studio Osmosis was established by Sameer Balvally and Shilpa Jain Balvally, in 2010, in Mumbai, India. The Studio’s foundation is built on the origins of the “Osmosis” phenomenon, in which client participation and meticulous aesthetic detail result in the final design. Studio Osmosis has quickly established itself as a reputable name in the field of design and architecture, not only in India, but all around the world.
Shilpa and Sameer Balvally established their own company, Studio Osmosis, in January 2010 after over two decades of experience in architecture, interior design, and planning gained from working with clients in India and abroad. The multidisciplinary practice’s work ethics combine Indian and foreign concepts, fusing cultures and utilising both systems’ advantages.

The goal of Studio Osmosis is to strike a careful balance between inexperience and expertise, creativity and pragmatism. This interior design studio in India has always held the view that these characteristics should be combined effectively to produce unique, useful designs. At the Studio, adaptability serves as the foundation for all designs, which are all based on study and experimentation. The site, context, limitations, and opportunity that a project brings are always the main points of attention.
Studio Osmosis’ design ideas reflect a sense of fluidity and energy, staying true to their name. Instead of adhering to one specific formal style of design, a more adaptive and flexible approach to design is taken by absorbing the needs of the customer and creating solutions that are specifically tailored to each project.
Young brains work together creatively, transforming original, practical endeavours in experimental and sustainable design from new ideas and thoughts. This method of design is what distinguishes projects from the competition and adds a sense of dynamic freshness to the table.
You can see this aspect of bespoke designs and solutions throughout their broad portfolio. In numerous locations in India and overseas, Studio Osmosis has completed a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, including interior architecture for residential as well as commercial, healthcare, and retail projects.
Their work exudes distinctive aesthetic features and a simplicity of underlying functionality that make an impression on viewers. They intend to continue operating their business in the same way moving forward, creating locations and experiences for people while taking pleasure in the process.
Three Vaddos in Alibag, Maharashtra, India are now having their interiors redone by Studio Osmosis as part of the ongoing Isprava Homes development project. Each of the 8 exquisite private villas in this Vaddo offers you the finer joys of community living as well as the delight of being one with nature, and is situated in Alibaug’s Dhokawade neighbourhood, 7 minutes from the Mandwa jetty.
A luxurious experience is created when nature, tranquilly, and comfort come together in Villa C of Sienna Vaddo, one of the eight exquisite private villas now under development. What makes this beach house so authentically tropical is its laid-back vibe mixed with subtle elements of personalised luxury found throughout the estate.
The villa and its surrounds, which were designed with a tropical modern aesthetic, give this lovely seaside city the ideal amount of luxury living. It will immediately give you a sense of quiet and serenity and release you from the routine of your busy life because it is surrounded by beautiful hills and lush foliage on all four sides, resulting in a real tropical retreat in India.
This two-story house will encourage you to take a breather and recognise the importance of living in the present because it was built to make the most of every open area. Warm colours are combined with sharp cement finishes and harsh vintage chandeliers in the living area, which is cosy yet stylish. Large glass doors employed in this space are intended to bring brightness into your home and into your life, allowing you to unwind, revive, and recover with your loved ones right in the heart of your house.
The property offers you a peaceful atmosphere of India, with the Arabian Sea as its backdrop, even though it is located in central Mumbai in a district that is primarily residential. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link, which glitters beyond, completes the residence’s spectacular cityscape from its 42nd-floor location.
The design of the house is a direct reaction to the client’s instructions and the product of close cooperation with the client and their vision for their ideal home. Their goal was to create a home that reflected their personalities and lifestyles, provided a place for their child to feel safe, secure, and loved, while also keeping private spaces for growth and learning.
The space was intended by Studio Osmosis to be muted yet boldly elegant, classy yet having a warm palette and a strong yet subtle arched language that beautifully carries throughout the house with greens, whites being the major mood and a very fresh, simple result as evolved from the first sketch on the drawing board.
Studio Osmosis fell head over heels for the apartment’s layout and city views the moment they stepped inside. They desired for the house to frame the vistas from every angle and to look forth. It is in a building with great terraces, greenery, and magnificent sunsets to enjoy. A complete haven in the Mumbai jungle of concrete, in India.
The use of arching shapes to connect you from one place to another gave the design a more architectural feel. The Arches changed into places to pause, built thresholds, and expanded the language to connect the many rooms in the house. A simple design language was used, with muted colours and forms.
