The playful, luxurious design for this central London hotel cocktail lounge emanates from a central jewel-box bar, ebbing out into a series of lounges and onto a quirky smoking terrace. Fettle worked with international hospitality brand, The Doyle Collection, to deliver a space that offers both hotel guests and local Londoners alike a vibrant spot for reading the paper in the daytime, eating lunchtime snacks on the terrace or sipping post theatre signature cocktails.
The site for the Hoxton Portland is located in Chinatown on the site of the former 1920’s theatre. The lobby is open, comfortable and inclusive. It is designed to be a community hub for both locals and hotel clientele alike. This space includes an expansive brick wall featuring an integrated central fireplace that acts as a focal point for the room and around which the mid-century inspired furniture, upholstered in colourful and comfortable fabrics, is orientated.

La Brasseria is a family run restaurant that has operated in London for over 20 years. Fettle worked alongside the team to fully re-design their existing restaurant on Marylebone High Street.
Fettle has worked with the Bel-Air team since their first site in Paul Street. They developed the restaurants’ design with the client team as they expanded into larger spaces in New Fetter Lane and their flagship site at the foot of the Leadenhall building. Inspired by the new Californian healthy fast food spots of Venice Beach, the Bel-Air concept is rooted in providing organic, great tasting food in a no-nonsense, honest and fresh environment.

Fettle’s relationship with Gourmet Burger Kitchen has spanned five years and has included almost a dozen projects. Every location has taken on a different aesthetic based on vernacular details and the site itself. The client team is always keen for Fettle to experiment with new materials and progressive design concepts whilst ensuring the functionality of the spaces remains paramount.
Fettle were approached by Steven Ellis and the Andreva Gastronomy team in 2016 to transform an existing pub in Old Windsor into their first venture: A fine dining country pub. Their aim was to create a space that enabled food and service of the highest standard to be served within the surroundings and comfort of a traditional country pub.
The approach:
We believe in a very honest, direct, design-led approach, based around the functional aspects of the spaces we design. Our intrinsic understanding of the requirements and operations of hospitality venues around the globe allows us to work with our clients in a structured, efficient way, from the initial concept stages through the construction process. By balancing the importance of design work with the understanding of the process, we are able to deliver stunning spaces that are both economically viable and functional.
Fettle has worked alongside the Yard Sale team since they opened their first site on Lower Clapton Road in 2015. They have seen them grow from strength to strength, opening new sites in Finsbury Park, Walthamstow and Leytonstone whilst achieving the accolade of London’s best loved local restaurant in the 2017 Timeout Love London awards.
The flagship restaurant in the Caruso Palisades Village, the Draycott, evokes the nostalgia of a grand European Brasserie balanced with the freshness and flair of its Californian location. Owned by renowned local restaurateurs Marissa and Matt Hermer, The Draycott is designed in a way that will allow it to become a staple neighbourhood destination.

In the Autumn of 2015, Fettle began work on their first residential project which involved the restoration of a six-storey townhouse in Kensington, London. Originally built in the 1860s, many of the period details, such as lathe and plaster walls and ornate cornice work, were in need of replacement. Fettle had the privilege of working hand-in-hand with some of London’s finest architectural restoration companies and consultants to restore the original glamour and elegance of the decorative detailing.
By balancing the importance of design work with the understanding of the process, Fettle is able to deliver stunning spaces that are both economically viable and functional.
