Dior wowed us once again this season with custom-built venues at the Dior Homme and women’s haute couture Paris Fashion Week shows. Winter 2016/2017 Dior Fashion Show was decorated with parquet floors mixed with military-style boots and pointed-toe mulemules: oversize chevron was perfectly paired with reflective surfaces at the couture show, while at Homme, an intricate geometric pattern was set off by neon lights.
Dior Fashion show: patterned runway: building of the show space oustide the Musée Rodin, a unique structure which conceals an iconic and puzzling mirrored décor.

At Dior Homme, models shared the runway with skate ramps and half-pipes under an enormous chandelier, all lit in a bright red hue. The juxtaposition of grandeur and edgy decoration complemented a gigantic panoramic movie backdrop starring the models and dramatic red, white, and black clothes.
Houte Couture Dior: “The collection is about taking elements of the past, but bringing them into the present and reflecting on where we are now, in the situation of today,” explains Kris Van Assche, creative director of house Dior. “It’s a moment in time for a contemporary generation.”
The exterior of the haute couture show featured reflective jagged spikes, while the interior also contained mirrored surfaces. The set took three weeks to assemble and used a total of 1500 square meters of mirrors on the floor, exterior, and ceiling.
