In the wonderful world of objects, Pierre Charpin is a distinguished guest. Chairs, pitchers, carafes, tables or armchairs appreciate its delicate way of evolving around them. From the limbs of matter, their spirits render him politeness by blowing out unprecedented archetypal forms.
Graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art in Bourges in 1984, he possesses the look and sense of the plastic artist’s balance. He also has the patience of the sculptor – the profession of his father, the artist Marc Charpin, when it comes to purifying the material until reaching the truth of a work already alive, drawn or just divined. Sensitive to the voices of objects in the making, Pierre Charpin concentrated on designing furniture and objects.
After a visit to the Milan studio of George Sowden (a co-founder of the Memphis group) in 1993 and 1994, he returned to Paris, obtaining a carte blanche from the VIA (Promotion of Innovation in Furnishings). In 1998, Brunati published his Slice chair.

Invitations, too. In 1998, at the CIRVA (International Center for Research on Glass and Plastic Arts) in Marseille, he produced a series of luxury pieces in glass.
In 2011, he designed Intervalles, a collection of glasses and carafe for the Cristalleries Saint-Louis. In 2012, a residence under the program of Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto (Japan) opens new horizons. The Grand-Hornu, the Villa Noailles , since then, several personal exhibitions devoted twenty years of remarkable design. To (re) discover in the first monograph devoted to the designer by JRP Ringier (2014). And at Maison et Objet Paris in January 2017, hall 7, in a luxurious space signed by this magician lines.
