PYR has been entrusted with iconic historic landmarks as well as cutting-edge developments around the world as a direct result of the creative integrity, authenticity, and craftsmanship they bring to every project. The company’s design achievements deliver award-winning results for major international hospitality brands such as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria, Fairmont, St. Regis, Peninsula, Shangri-La, Sofitel, InterContinental, and numerous boutique hotels.
Our design philosophy centers on creating a refined, comfortable atmosphere that celebrates elegance and warmth while providing a timeless backdrop for an ever-changing modern culture.
In addition, PYR has created restaurant environments for some of the world’s most innovative chefs, such as Joël Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, Paul Bocuse, Gérard Boyer, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
Today, offices in Paris and Chicago work collaboratively, with designers and technical staff organized into integrated project teams offering a full spectrum of interior design services. PYR’s design leadership is fully engaged in every aspect of the design process, approaching each project with decades of experience and the goal of transforming business and strategic objectives of clients into successful design solutions.
PYR is a part of Perkins+Will, an integrated design firm with 23 offices around the world. They practice urban planning, architecture, interiors, branded environments, planning and strategy, preservation and adaptive reuse.
Pierre–Yves Rochon is the Founder and Global Design Director of PYR and establishes the design philosophies and creative strategies of the company. His knowledge of a wide range of design principles and international cultures creates the foundation for each project’s sense of timeless style, comfort and elegance.
He sets the firm’s high design standards, ensuring that projects exceed owner and operator expectations. Every project is approached with an open mind, beginning with the client’s vision and business goals. He strives to enhance every aspect of the guest experience while reflecting each location’s culture, history and geography.
High ceilings, tall windows and old-world elegance give the 81 guestrooms a stately atmosphere of centuries past, while integrating the latest in-room technologies. Built in 1891 as the mansion of Prince Roland Bonaparte, this beautifully restored hotel highlights elements from its classical French roots, and celebrates the heritage and international flair of the Shangri-La brand through subtle Asian touches.
The original Art Deco and English Edwardian aesthetics of The Savoy, the first luxury hotel in Britain in 1889, have come to life through an ambitious three-year restoration. The 268 guestrooms are uniquely styled, no two alike, integrating the latest technologies and views of the Thames River.
The Ritz Carlton Tianjin takes the historic British Concession area in Tianjin as the starting point for its design inspiration. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the hotel’s authentic English Neoclassical interiors reflect the port city’s dual heritage, blending a classical European aesthetic with Chinese architectural and decorative elements.
Rising 57 stories above Sunny Isles Beach and the sparkling blue Atlantic Ocean, PYR translates the strikingly modern architectural form of the newly constructed Jade Signature tower into a warm and welcoming interior residential experience. Curved lines and soaring volumes celebrate the building architecture and the spirit of Miami, while intimate alcoves, midcentury modern furnishings and rich materials infuse the building with warmth and comfort.
