How To Design Your Living Room 4 Tips From Interior Design Magazines
Living room ideas and design inspiration needed? Welcome to the BRABBU’s issue for today: How to design your living room living room from Interior Design Magazines based on the space and your personal style.
Heide Ziecker, lead designer at Meredith Baer Home, has four easy layouts to cater to your specific room and living room desires. Read on to learn her easy-to-follow tips for arranging a living room that is both stylish and practical.
Ziecker’s staple living room design is also the most traditional.
“I like it because you’re using the whole room,” says Ziecker. “Placing two chairs in front of the fireplace [creates] a square that feels complete in terms of conversation.”
“These pieces make the space feel a little more open, cleaner and minimalistic,” says Ziecker. “It provides cleaner lines. We like putting zebra-patterned stools by the fireplace to add a little punch.“
“It feels like cocktail hour, like you could sit and either have a drink or play a game,” says Ziecker. “There’s something about it that feels sophisticated, but it’s still conversational. You don’t have to have a fireplace because the coffee table becomes your focal point of the room.“
“It adds a little more texture and interest to your furnishings in the room,” says Ziecker. “It’s maintaining that square shape, so it’s still conversational, but there’s not a repetitiveness of sofa, sofa, chair, chair.“
