Interior Design Magazine Presents us 6 Forward-Thinking Offices

For over 80 years, Interior Design magazine has been the essential design authority for every professional, on all projects, throughout the design process. Interior Design Media is the global, industry-leading design publication, website and events company serving the interior design, architectural and facility management audiences.

BRABBU is a serious follow of Interior Design and we’ve particularly liked yesterday’s issue: Bold Geometric Forms Take Center Stage in These 6 Forward-Thinking Offices.

1. Firm: HNTB Corporation
Project: National Nuclear Security Administration
Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
Standout: Models of atoms and molecules yielded the hexagonal motifs of pendant fixtures, custom ceiling panels, and wall treatments at this General Services Administration project.

2. Firm: HOK
Project: Hachette
Location: London
Standout: Lined up like book spines, slats of engineered walnut accent the six-story atrium hub of a building that consolidates this publisher’s seven brands.

3. Firm: Gensler
Project: Tenet Health
Location: Dallas
Standout: Serenity reigns on three levels of an I.M. Pei & Partners tower, thanks to abundant glass, wood-look porcelain floor tile, and a soothing color palette.

4. Firm: Architecture + Information
Project: Millennial Media
Location: Baltimore
Standout: A diagonal pathway brings ease of movement, connecting office areas to meeting rooms, but stairs are needed to reach the mezzanine where staffers do yoga.

5. Firm: Bora Architects and ZGF Architects
Project: Microsoft
Location: Redmond, Washington
Standout: Technology meets nature, with screens in recycled oak recalling data bytes and a wall installation of wine bottles alluding to the region’s vineyards.

6. Firm: Spector Group
Project: Deutsch
Location: New York
Standout: Upholstery on an array of modernist seating provides a lively orange and fuchsia foil to surroundings otherwise dominated by concrete, epoxy, and painted steel.
