Located in the former lobby of Los Angeles’s former Hotel Stowell is the recently opened Le Petit Paris restaurant. Part of the ritzy hotel, the original lobby and mezzanine were built in 1913 by architect Frederick Noonan, during a gaudy era when Los Angeles, was referred to as the Wall Street of the West. The bygone hotel was frequented by early 20th-century Hollywood stars, including Charlie Chaplin, who once lived in the building.

In 2013, Cannes-based restaurateurs David and Fanny Rolland decided to repurpose the space, abandoned since the 1980s, into an elegant French eatery. They called in architect and designer Beth Holden, who resurrected the lobby; merging the 102-year-old gold-leafed columns with a Parisian theme of Eiffel Tower–printed wall covering and tubular crystal chandeliers.
