Jane Picking is the owner of House of Design with her partner Alan Crooks. Jane Picking and Soulla Georgiou-Young are involved in the interior design side and according to this one, the “main inspiration for the champagne bar was opulence, elegance, sophistication and our many trips to beautiful hotels and bars in Paris and Milan”, and in what respects to the favourite piece: “I would say our favourite is the stunning mural on one wall with the grand bespoke amber chandelier in front. The beautiful gold and bronze tones successfully create a dramatic yet intimate setting”.

It kind of interior design is not defined as an interior restaurant according to the design trends. The design furniture and the main interior design ideas are expressions of a journey that create a dramatic, opulent and stunning yet intimate setting. Contemporary interiors like this are part of an atemporal design project. According to Soula: “Jane wants to ultimately create a space which is beautiful, functional and a true representation of each client’s needs and aspirations”.
Let’s know more about Jane Picking and Soulla Georgiou-Young: the creative minds that are behind this project.
The love of Jane for luxury interiors started when “she was working creatively with Debenhams, designing their window displays in 1978”, particularly, when “Debenhams was appointed to design the interiors for new Emerson Park show homes”. At this moment, according to Soulla Georgiou-Young, “Jane has more than 30 years experience and a wealth of knowledge and expertise”. She has worked in both the luxury residential and commercial interior design sectors. Following her real passion for interior design and beautiful furniture, “with her dedicated team at House Of Design, they pride themselves on their Interior Design Service. House Of Design specialises in providing their clients with a bespoke collection of products and services tailored to specifically meet every element of a client’s project”. And this company also conquered Soulla Georgiou-Young that joined it in 2016, and according to her own words: “I have not looked back! It is a dream job! Every day is different”.
Soulla Georgiou-Young has a degree in graphic design but she is involved “in many areas of the design sector, interiors being just one”. She is working in this industry “for over 25 years, gaining abundant knowledge and experience within some of London’s top design agencies as a designer, creative director and visual stylist”. Even more, she has skills in bespoke design and project management, with a good balance of commercial and creative expertise and she is also responsible for all in-house design and marketing.
