His mother was a stylist and his father a mechanical\u00a0engineer; the combination of these elements embedded a deep understanding of aesthetics alongside a grounding in functionality. He enrolled at The American University in London to study Interior Architecture where he was deeply inspired by an eclectic\u00a0range of\u00a0architects and designers, including\u00a0<em>Carlo Scarpa<\/em>, <em>Paul Dupree-Lafon <\/em>and <em>Dorothy Draper<\/em>. Through introducing a casual dining concept, visitors are encouraged to relax and luxuriate in the <strong>comfort <\/strong>of Linnaean, extending their stay and reaping the benefits of the <strong>relaxing ambience<\/strong>.\u00a0Split across two floors, Linnaean offers a hair salon, treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure stations, a retail area and a standalone caf\u00e9. Utilising <strong>clean lines<\/strong> with a fresh colour palette of greens and soft coral tones, the whole space feels welcoming, bright and enriching. Limed timber, rattan and woven leather bring a tactile element to the design whilst vibrant ceramic tiles and terrazzo stone ensure the look is refreshing and <strong>contemporary<\/strong>. Situated in the ultra-modern K11 Musea on Hong Kong\u2019s picturesque Victoria Harbour, the new Fortnum &amp; Mason stands as a beacon of English hospitality in a burgeoning market. Split across two floors, with panoramic views of the Hong Kong skyline, Fortnum &amp; Mason comprises a full shop floor and a separate restaurant, 181, serving lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.\u00a0Blending together the original store\u2019s Georgian design influences with eastern inflexions, moments of <strong>joy <\/strong>and <strong>innovation<\/strong>, the shop floor effectively contrasts against the ultra-modern external architecture. A ruby red woollen carpet flows throughout and pops against eau-de-nil walls and brings to life the innovative display items, including a fresh pass, tea counter and whimsical champagne display.\u00a0Ascending a sweeping staircase with hand-painted mural detailing by Melissa White, guests will arrive at 181 Restaurant. The restaurant is filled with <strong>natural light<\/strong>, thanks to fully-glazed windows and a soft colour palette of pale green which tones effortlessly against a striking cream and gold veined marble at the bar. Housing an impressive collection of young and established British artwork, the design of the Club was based on the 1930s style of The Ivy restaurant below.
