ABH Interiors<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, the interior design firm founded by Alexis Humiston, masterfully crafts the master bathroom spa at the 2019 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.<\/p>\n

While ABH Interiors always seeks to incorporate historical and unique pieces into their projects, from a rare 18th century pair of Italian inlaid commodes to original furniture by notable mid-century modern designers, to a custom mosaic commission reflecting a couple\u2019s historical roots on 120 hand-painted ceramic plates, the San Francisco Showcase has provided yet another opportunity for ABH Interiors to luxuriously weave history and modernity together.<\/p>\n

ABH Interiors has been tasked with a metamorphosis of the master bathroom spa at the 18,000 square foot Presidio Heights mansion at 3800 Washington Street. Modeled after the Petit Trianon in Versailles when built in 1904, this home is a San Francisco Landmark listed with the National Register of Historic Places.<\/p>\n

The Decorator Showcase will be open to the public from April 27 \u2013 May 27 and will benefit the financial aid program of San Francisco University High School. A special Press Preview will take place on Wednesday, April 24 from 9:00 a.m. \u2013 12:00 noon.<\/p>\n\n \"BB_Book2020\"<\/a>\n

ABH Interiors has sought to create a romantic and nostalgic respite for Eloise, the beloved granddaughter of Le Petit Trianon\u2019s original owner, Cora Koshland. While Cora Koshland hosted many parties at the historic home, historical documents show that a particularly sentimental occasion was the butterfly-themed d\u00e9butante ball for her granddaughter.<\/p>\n

The flowers were such an important element, that the only person entrusted with the responsibility was the family\u2019s butler of 35 years, who was formally trained in the art. As a tribute to the grand gardens and lifestyle of Eloise\u2019s family, the spa is wrapped in a custom, hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper entitled \u201cParadise Lost\u201d, launched in collaboration with ABH Interiors for Spring 2019.<\/p>\n

The design features crumbling ruins, overgrown gardens, abandoned boats, and wandering peacocks, evoking a once-mystical landscape that time has forgotten.<\/p>\n

While the wallpaper remembers a paradise of years gone by, the spa itself has been fully restored with pieces from around the world, including a fireplace, double shower, freestanding tub, newly installed and polished 100-year old French Oak floors, elegant stone slabs, and sumptuous velvet chairs to create a new paradise of today.<\/p>\n
