Vincent Callebaut<\/strong><\/em> is an architect and an ecologist born in Belgium in 1977 that invites us to discover a completely futuristic architecture. While looking to his creations, we enter a science fiction movie from Luc Besson. Buildings are drowning under vegetation and there aren\u2019t any straight lines. Nature is the master of his architecture, it guides it, inspires it.<\/p>\n

Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower \u2013 Taiwan<\/span><\/h1>\n

Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower was finished in 2018 and will be a part of the Taiwanese landscape from now on. The residential building is a huge lung absorbing the carbon of the over-populated city. The vegetal tower show off an innovative shape bowed. This allows all the gardens of all the flats to have an opening to the sky but also to each flat to have a different position in space. On the top of the tower, we can find a public garden protected by a photovoltaic pergola that feeds in energy a part of the building. The building located in Taipei can suffer from the seismical activity and so, the foundation is\u00a0able to resist any kind of earthquake.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Heliopolis gate located at Cairo in Egypt is a residential complex hosting more than a thousand accommodations. The building is feed in energy thanks to solar panels on its roof, wind turbines, a geothermal system, and suspended gardens. The location of the complex isn\u2019t easy because of its high temperatures during the summer, however, Vincent Callebaut<\/strong><\/em> found a way to make the building cooler naturally. With high vegetal chimney, the building will breathe the outside air and diffuse it automatically inside the building without the need for any electricity. The construction will be ended in 2019.<\/p>\n

The 5 farmer bridges \u2013 Iraque<\/h1>\n

Thinking about Iraque leads us more to the word \u201cwar\u201d than to the word \u201cBabylon\u201d. However, Vincent Callebaut<\/strong><\/em> imagined the 5 farmer bridges of Mosul and here is the result. A fresh eldorado, covered by vegetation, a true oasis in the middle of the desert. The project aims to build 53 000 accommodation thanks to a 3D printer and the ruins of the war. Feed in water by the river Tigre, the bridges will be entirely covered by gardens and vegetal cultures, allowing the city a full autonomy to his inhabitants. The buildings are inspired by the muqarnas, the traditional oriental ornaments.<\/p>\n

Lilypad is an anticipation of the inevitable: the rise of the oceans. Creating mass migration, the climate migrant shall have a place to live created by Vincent Callebaut<\/strong><\/em>. Inspired by the flower Lilypad, the construction will obviously be autonomous in energy and composed of 50 000 accommodations. The top of the islands will be covered by skin in polyester fibers and titanium dioxide that will absorb athmosph\u00e9ric pollution.<\/p>\n

After the Lilypad, I introduce you to the dragonfly of New York. The complex is composed of 2 buildings inspired by the wings of a dragonfly and hosting animal farms and gardens. Their positions faced to the sun and winds will give optimum condition to plants during their development. The space between the 2 wings will act as ventilation that will accumulate warm air during the summer to spread it in the building during the winter. The opposite works also, plants will get fresh air automatically by a system of natural sweating.<\/p>\n

Hydrogenase is the invention of the future. The concept is to create huge towers producing green sea-weed, that would act as giant ventilators allowing to clean the outside air and to breathe better. Those towers would, of course, take place in China, the heart of the pollution problem in the world. In plus of being completely useful and potentially built for 2030, those towers are fully inspired by nature in their aesthetics and 100% autonomous in energy.<\/p>\n
