The Salone Internazionale del Mobile it\u2019s a design showcase that has always mixed business with culture, shaping the history of design and furnishing yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Salone Internazionale del Mobile<\/strong> was founded in 1961 as a vehicle for promoting Italian furniture and furnishings exports and soon became the most keenly awaited event in the world of furniture. Last year\u2019s edition was a huge success and the 58th Edition of iSaloni<\/strong> is ready to step up to the expectations and surpass the success of the 57th Edition, that gathered\u00a0a total of 434,509 visitors. 1841 exhibitors showcased their products in Fiera Milano Rho last year.<\/p>\n

The many exhibitors along with the thousands of products being unveiled for the first time confirm the Salone Internazionale del Mobile\u2019s enormous value as an international showcase for creativity and a forum for industry professionals, with\u00a0more than 330,000 attendees<\/strong>\u00a0on average, every year, from\u00a0165 different nations<\/strong>. This is one of\u00a0Milan Design Week\u2019s main events!<\/p>\n

This part of the event focuses especially on the work of young designers, specifically those under 35 years old. It can be described as a potential meeting place between potential young talents in design and businessmen. Here is an opportunity for many young designers to present their prototypes and turn them into reality by contacting with several enterprises.<\/p>\n

Fuorisalone is a set of events that are distributed throughout Milan at the same time of\u00a0Salone Internazionale del Mobile.\u00a0<\/strong>These two events, you could say, are the main definers of Milan Design Week. However, in the case of the Fuoriosalone, this is not a fair event nor is it controlled by any institution, but it\u2019s an initiative that expands to many other areas such as art, fashion, food, technology and telecommunications. You can find many of the exhibitors of\u00a0Fuoriosalone\u00a0at many Milanese districts, mainly in Brera, Tortona and Ventura.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0XXII Triennale di Milano<\/strong> starts in the 1st of March and ends at th 12th of June, however, it\u2019s also a potential event to be seen during Milan Design Week. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cBroken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival\u201d and the main goal is to, in their words \u201cpromote the importance of creative practices in surveying our species\u2019 bonds with the complex systems in the world\u201d and discuss and analyze potential solutions in that regard. The event is currently curated by Paola Antonelli (Senior Curator of Architecture and Design and also the Director of R&D at The Museum of Modern Art, New York).<\/p>\n
