The 29th edition of North America\u2019s premier show for contemporary design was over the roof! The latest trends, the most exquisite design, and design\u2019 finest professionals joined together in one place.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Editor\u2019s Awards 2017 <\/strong>\u00a0were chosen and presented on the first day of ICFF<\/a>, as part of the citywide NYCxDesign<\/a> festival. \u00a0We made a selection of the most eye-catching ones!\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

Wellness<\/p>\n

New York\u2019s Pratt Institute<\/a> received the Wellness award for a collection of homeware and furniture designed to improve the lives of those suffering from Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/a>, which affects memory and other mental functions.<\/p>\n

Emerging Designer<\/h4>\n

Trueing<\/a>,\u00a0a Brooklyn-based design studio set up just four months before the fair, received the Emerging Designer accolade after presenting a set of table lamps with spinning dichroic disks.<\/p>\n

Booth Design<\/h4>\n

The winners of the Booth Design prize were\u00a0Two Parts<\/a>\u00a0and Katie Shima, for a compact space lined with blue modeling foam cut into sculptural shapes. The booth was used to showcase the Brooklyn company\u2019s ceramic LED lighting.<\/p>\n

Seating<\/h4>\n

Chairs made from repurposed boat sails by Dvelas<\/a> won the Outdoor category, while Bl\u00e5 Station<\/a>\u2018s simple modular sofa system named Bob<\/a> took home the Seating award.<\/p>\n

NYCxDesign Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n
