Maison et Objet Paris<\/strong><\/a>, a trade show<\/strong> of design\u00a0is almost there. Paris<\/strong> will receive one more year the Maison et Objet 2017<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, from 20 to 24 January 2017. This furniture show<\/strong> is the focus of every professional of design world, with excelent exhibitors, conferences and also new talents. Today, we present you\u00a0the nominees for rising talents of M&O Paris 2017<\/a>, <\/strong>nominated by six renowned designers. <\/strong>They\u00a0call them \u201cThe most promising talents from the United Kingdom<\/em>\u201d and why United Kingdom? Because UK has the largest interior design sector in Europe and the second largest in the world.<\/p>\n

1. Ilse Crawford\u2019s nominee Marcin Rusak<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marcin Rusak born in 1987 in Warsaw, Poland, but lives and works in London. He studies contemporary patterns of consumption, industry methods of manipulation, and the complicated systems we support. His work is the intersection of value, ephemerality and aesthetics, creating works that asks questions, references history and proposes possible future scenarios, utilizing the power of materials, volume and form that he moves fluidly from decorative art objects to sculptures, two dimensional work and back again each time with a story as his guide.<\/p>\n

2. Sir Paul Smith\u2019s nominee John Booth<\/strong><\/p>\n

John Booth wanted to be a textile designer; he was studying Fashion Print at Central St Martins when he realized he could channel his \u201cinterest in fashion and textiles through his passion for drawing\u201d.\u00a0Whether he is designing ceramic objects, textile prints or doing fashion illustrations, John Booth follows the same creative path: his work is instantaneous, always sporting strong, often primary colours and is never conceptual or conceptualized.<\/p>\n

3. Ross Lovegrove\u2019s nominee Giles Miller<\/strong><\/p>\n

Giles Miller is a composer of materials. He\u00a0specialises in the development of truly innovative surface, material and sculptural works.\u00a0With focuses on light, reflection, texture and the manipulation of these elements, Giles Miller creates conceptually subtle yet beautifully functional artworks.<\/p>\n

4. Jay Osgerby\u2019s nominee Sebastian Cox<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sebastian Cox grew up surrounded by woods and raised by a father whose profession was to restore timber-framed buildings. Later, it seemed natural to him to study Furniture at Lincoln University, followed by an MA in Design. For this British craftsman and designer, designing and making are the two faces of his trade. He use traditional techniques and at the same time incorporate a contemporary aesthetic, thta appeals to modern homes.<\/p>\n

5. Nigel Coates\u2019 nominee Studio Swine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japanese architect Azusa Murakami and British artist Alexander Groves are the Studio SWINE. \u00a0Obsessed with materials, travelling the world from South America to some uninhabited South Pacific parts or to the Shandong province of China, they consider design as \u201can agent for change\u201d, willing to change the perception of materials by turning waste into luxury.<\/p>\n

6. Tom Dixon\u2019s nominee Zuza Mengham<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zuza Mengham is a London based Artist and Designer. Her work explores the join between the recovery of traditional crafts and the creation of her own new methods of making. From giant steel and neon chandeliers housing hanging plants to small geometric glassy sculptures, her work is seated within an atheistic of modernist abstraction.
\nShe also works on a jewellery series which explores synthesising particular materials such as powdered copper and slate, allowing the natural density of each component or pigment to drop and rise creating spontaneously marbled colours.<\/p>\n
