Ikea Museum will host a permanent and temporary exhibition. The permanent exhibition will be divided in three parts: the roots, our story and your stories.<\/p>\n

The Our roots theme takes us on a journey through living conditions in late\u00a0nineteenth century Sm\u00e5land, Ingvar Kamprad\u2019s own childhood in the 1930s and\u00a0Sweden\u2019s transformation from farming society to a modern welfare state \u2013 factors\u00a0that have played a crucial role in the establishment of IKEA.<\/p>\n

Our story starts in the same building the museum visitors find themselves in \u2013\u00a0the very first IKEA store, which opened in \u00c4lmhult in 1958. Here, we get to know\u00a0the entrepreneur Ingvar Kamprad and the colleagues who helped him in his task\u00a0of creating opportunities for the many people to be able to furnish their homes\u00a0with function wood design furniture.<\/p>\n

The third part of the exhibition, Your stories, puts the spotlight on customers\u2019\u00a0own stories \u2013 individual, inventive ways of using Ikea\u2019s\u00a0furniture and products and\u00a0relationships with them.<\/p>\n

With this museum, the world of design furniture is richer and more interesting for those who like cultural tourism and design.<\/p>\n
