More than just an ideal vantage point for downtown exploration, the property is an art spectacle in itself and a community hub partnered with a range of local businesses and nonprofits. What\u2019s the meaning of\u00a0conscious hospitality<\/strong>? \u201cIt means that we approach each aspect of the hotel\u2014from design to location to amenities to our ultramodern brand of service\u2014with awareness, purpose, and thoughtful consideration. This consciousness reaches beyond the property to the community, motivating us to give back to charitable organizations who are doing important work. In fact, when guests book directly with 11 Howard, we donate a portion of the money to charity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Danish studio\u00a0SPACE<\/strong> in collaboration with the creative director Anda Andrei<\/strong> worked on designing the spaces and furniture for the hotel\u00a0from real estate mogul Aby Rosen.<\/p>\n

You can clearly see this scandinavian DNA in the bespoke furniture created\u00a0using stone, wood and leather to complement its interiors.
\n\u201cWe\u2019re really interested in materials \u2013 stone, woods, leathers,\u201d said Space Copenhagen co-founder Signe Bindslev Henriksen. \u201cWe love things that age well. It\u2019s part of our responsibility that a project lives on in a beautiful manner long after we\u2019ve left.\u201d
\nThe studio created a range of custom furniture, handmade in Denmark, for the rooms. Adapted from its Fly collection for Danish brand & tradition, the lounge pieces are made from oiled oak to add to the light colour palette of the walls and flooring.<\/p>\n
