A native of Brazil, Antonio Martins has an uncommon global vision. He started his career in Switzerland, where he acquired an appreciation for European design. From Switzerland he moved to Venice, to Frankfurt, then to Hong Kong in the early 1990s for 11 years, where he became immersed in Asian arts and cultures.<\/p>\n

One of Antonio Martins existing clients purchased an award winning residence designed by Zack\/De Vito Architecture<\/strong> in the Noe Valley district of San Francisco. As we had worked on his previous residence, we knew his taste, style and overall requirements. The brief was simple: create cutting edge d\u00e9cor (with a bit of whimsy) that could stand up to the architecture while incorporating a few pieces from his present house.<\/p>\n

We started in the living room with an orange-to-gray silk carpet and a pair of Christian Liagre Latin Chairs. Added to the mix was a pair of original Papa Bear chairs and ottomans by Hans Wagner, a Knoll sofa and an over-sized industrial mold on the wall.\u00a0The dining room, adjacent to the living area, was the perfect place for \u201cDancing Partners\u201d by Robert Longo \u2026 purchased several years ago by the client at auction. We furnished the space with a live edge dining table and a set of natural leather saddle Cab armchairs. A pair of \u201c85 lamps\u201d chandeliers by Droog and a colorful Missoni carpet complete the space.<\/p>\n

Outside the dining room, an outdoor living room was created with a large teak sofa, armchairs and a pair of Chinese \u201cscholar stones\u201d used as coffee table. For a strong visual element, we added a metal sculpture by Agelio Battle, a perfect match for the steel components already in the garden created by the architect.<\/p>\n

\"San<\/p>\n

The master suite on the sixth floor is reached by a dramatic steel and acrylic staircase. Walls were covered with Phillip Jeffrey\u2019s Seagrass, giving warmth to the space. All the furniture was designed by us and manufactured by Fabian Fine Furniture.<\/p>\n
