When she\u2019s looking for a place to sit, or just a quiet spot to make a phone call, interior designer, author, and television personality Libby Langdon loves the glass-enclosed walkway that connects IHFC Main to the Wrenn Wing, on the third floor. \u201cIt\u2019s very quiet with little window seats built in, so there\u2019s a spot to sit and plop down all your bags. It\u2019s nice to be flooded with natural light for a few minutes!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Koket<\/a><\/p>\n

Christi Barbour, a partner in Barbour-Spangle Design, finds her respite outdoors. \u201cThe walkway from IHFC to Showplace has plenty of seating for fresh air and great people watching,\u201d she says. \u201cAnd most buildings have a buyers lounge. Be sure to ask for directions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Top<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Starbucks in the Suites at Market Square is one place I can rest,\u201d says Seattle-based Faith Sheridan, CEO of Faith Sheridan Interior Design, who stays true to her Northwest roots when it\u2019s break time. \u201cI always see someone I know there, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

If you\u2019d like to enjoy some free refreshments while you relax, head down the North American Home Furnishings Association\u2019s (NAHFA) Buyer\u2019s Lounge, located in the Retailer Resource Center on the first floor of Plaza Suites. \u201cWe serve breakfast in the morning, lunch at mid-day, and coffee all day, Saturday through Tuesday of Market Week,\u201d says NAHFA CEO Sharron Bradley. \u201cThe Buyer\u2019s Lounge is open to all Market attendees, so please come by. We\u2019d love to meet you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lifestyle designer Kelli Ellis\u2019 favorite hideaway takes a little legwork to find, but it\u2019s worth it. \u201cI love the little hidden back patio at Oly! Or if I\u2019m wandering around the Antique & Design Center, any corner is amazing. It\u2019s a must see!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother fantastic spot is the veranda outside the Four Hands showroom,\u201d says Traci Zeller, interior designer and owner of Traci Zeller Inc. \u201cIt\u2019s a bird\u2019s-eye view of everything going on down below!\u201d<\/p>\n

Refueling Stations<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of the day, when your brain is full of new ideas but your body is low on sustenance, dozens of options await you. Walk to nearby venues or take a car, cab or shuttle to some of the Triad\u2019s hot spots.<\/p>\n

If you want to stick close to the Market center, Barbour suggests Surya and Four Hands. \u201cThey have good bars and fun atmospheres. And the rooftop lounges at American Leather and Vanguard have a great vibe and amazing views.\u201d<\/p>\n

For adventures beyond downtown, High Point resident Barbour recommends some places a short ride from the Market center. \u201cBlue Rock Pizza is fun. Real Kitchen & Market\u2019s new Wine and Tap room is a great spot for drinks and appetizers, and often live music,\u201d she says. \u201cNext door is Emerywood Fine Foods. If you\u2019re looking for laid back atmosphere and lighter fare, one of our favorites is Blue Zucchini. All are within walking distance of the J.H. Adams Inn, which is home to Hampton\u2019s Restaurant.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a place called Tipsy\u2019z Tavern on Westchester Drive, a casual bar and restaurant that serves great wings and big burgers,\u201d says Langdon. \u201cSome nights they have live music. It\u2019s full of locals having fun and every now and then you\u2019ll run into a Market person. But it\u2019s off the Market radar for the most part!\u201d<\/p>\n

For Style Spotter, interior designer, and home fashion blogger Denise McGaha, the Blue Water Grille \u201cis the perfect place in High Point for chic, sophisticated dining, with exceptional food complemented by a robust wine list. It\u2019s my favorite place to share a meal with people whose company I want to enjoy while at Market.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several designers travel to Greensboro for the evening. \u201cWe love to end the night at the Print Works Bistro in the Proximity Hotel, a great boutique hotel with sustainable style,\u201d says Beth Dotolo, partner at Pulp Design Studios. \u201cIt\u2019s designer friendly and delicious!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Maison<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cYou can never go wrong with Green Valley Grill at the O. Henry Hotel,\u201d says Zeller. \u201cLast Market, I discovered Josephine\u2019s Bistro and Bar. It was fantastic and definitely on my \u2018must visit again\u2019 list.\u201d<\/p>\n
