E. L. James\u2019 first choice for the double wonder in Fifty Shades of Grey was Robert Pattinson<\/a> and Kristen Stewart<\/a>, however, the author felt that casting them in the film would be \u201cweird\u201d because of their roles in Twilight Saga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The role of Christian had some interest expressed by Ian Somerhalder<\/a> and Chace Crawford<\/a>. Somerhalder latter admitted if he had been considered, the filming process would ultimately have conflicted with his shooting schedule for The CW series The Vampire Diaries<\/a>. Ryan Gosling<\/a> and Garrett Hedlund <\/a>were also considered for Christian, but Gosling was not interested in the role and Hedlund could not connect with the character.<\/p>\n

Stephen Amell<\/a>\u00a0said he would not have wanted to play the role of Grey because \u201cI actually didn\u2019t find him to be that interesting\u2026 nothing about Christian Grey really spoke to me\u201d.<\/p>\n

The list of other actresses considered for Fifty Shades of Grey Cast\u00a0 role of Anastacia included\u00a0<\/span>Imogen Poots<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Felicity Jones<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Alicia Vikander<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Shailene Woodley<\/a>. For getting Anastacia role, the director Sam Taylor-Johnson, would give every actress who came for audition to read four pages of a monologue from\u00a0<\/span>Ingmar Bergman<\/a>\u2018s\u00a0<\/span>Persona<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On September, 2013, author James said that Charlie Hunnam <\/a>and Dakota Johnson <\/a>had been Fifty Shades of Grey Cast<\/span> as\u00a0Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.\u00a0Hunnam initially turned down the role of Christian but later reconsidered it following a meeting with studio heads.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt really intrigued and excited about it so I went and read the first book to get a clearer idea of who this character was, and I felt even more excited at the prospect of bringing him to life. We (Taylor-Johnson and I) kind of both suggested I do a reading with Dakota, who was her favorite, and as soon as we got in the room and I started reading with Dakota I knew that I definitely wanted to do it. There\u2019s just like a tangible chemistry between us. It felt exciting and fun and weird and compelling\u201d said Hunnam.<\/p>\n

On October, 2013, Universal Pictures<\/a> announced that Hunnam had exited the film due to conflicts with the schedule of his FX\u00a0series Sons of Anarchy<\/a>. At the top of the list to replace Hunnam were Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a>,\u00a0Jamie Dornan<\/a>, Theo James<\/a>, Fran\u00e7ois Arnaud<\/a>, Scott Eastwood<\/a>, Luke Bracey<\/a> and Billy Magnussen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Finally, Dornan was cast as Christian Grey.<\/p>\n

\"BRABBUOn October, 2013,\u00a0Victor Rasuk\u00a0<\/a>was cast as Jos\u00e9 Rodriguez, Jr.\u00a0On November, 2013\u00a0Eloise Mumford\u00a0<\/a>was cast as Kate Kavanagh.\u00a0On December, 2013, Marcia Gay Harden<\/a> was cast as Christian\u2019s mother, Grace. On the same month\u00a0Rita Ora<\/a>,\u00a0who wanted to work on the soundtrack, was cast as Christian\u2019s younger sister Mia.<\/p>\n
