A HOMES’SOCIETY INTERVIEW
Home’Society believes that talking, discussing, and exploring ideas together is essential to the design process. The goal is to create a platform with a new vision of macro and micro trends within the industry, generating added value for the design lover community. These design talks include interviews with interior designers, architects, and showrooms to discover and discuss trending and the creative process.

Laura Stecich has an eye for business, cultural trends, and aesthetics, leaving her faceted expertise and market awareness into action by approaching every project with a vast perspective. With the goal to ensure that each space has a story to tell, and each project deserves the creation of a complete tale, she confesses she prefers her clients to consider her “more of a partner and not just a provider of services, someone who can understand and maybe give a right solution for some project aspects which are not necessarily related to an architecture”.
She started her professional path in London working on major buildings and in large practices, which had a strong influence on the way she sees her projects – “Working at major practices (…) effectively truly shaped my vision and my attitude to control all details of the project come down to the very joins”. Hospitality also defined some of the domain traces throughout the years, since it contains the main aspects of how she likes to develop her project throughout her current work.
Her own practice – Laura Stecich Architects – was started when she got the appointment to develop a luxury resort in Egypt a few years ago. After that, a large number of international projects followed, often
somewhere remote in the Middle East and in Africa. Retail is also an important part of her work, since the opening of boutiques worldwide for some prominent brands focused her activity in Italy, often operating for international clients on some interesting residential projects
I personally consider particularly reward receiving positive feedbacks from the final users of the spaces understanding how our design makes them feel better.
Most of her projects have a very strong touch of her own personal experience. Since Laura Stecich worked and lived for longs periods of time in different countries and among different cultures, it gave her the opportunity to contaminate the projects with other experiences ahead bringing the innovation of new
functions and trends.
When asked if her clients’ taste in modern interior design has evolved recently, Laura Stecich says that people are more observant and alert to how specific places make them feel, how colours, materials, volumes, lighting, and acoustics all have an impact on their perception and wellbeing. She emphasizes the significance of devoting time and effort to creating an excellent interior design project. Nonetheless, she recognizes that biophilic designs are currently quite fashionable and a growing trend.
In the end, she gives some advice to new ones or enthusiasts of this amazing world that is Design: Self-confidence, facing setbacks and hard work.
