Internationally renowned designer Tara Bernerd is the founder of the interior architectural practice, Tara Bernerd & Partners. Based in London’s Belgravia, the practice works on a global platform and prides itself on its intelligent approach to interior space planning and design.
Tara Bernerd and her team strive to create a feeling of authenticity within each property by establishing a distinct design DNA that is true to both the location and the people who will make it their home. Whether in a hotel lobby, a restaurant, or a private residence, the team seeks to create meaning and connection through a distinct sense of place.
Tara Bernerd & Partners was responsible for the interior architecture and bespoke interior design for this unique luxury apartment in London. Whilst embracing open-plan living, the apartment is carefully zoned to include cosy, more seductive areas that inject a feeling of intimacy. A feature bookshelf-come-fireplace was instated in the main living space to create an inviting area to sit, read and enjoy the view without detracting from the overall feeling of light and space.
Situated in the heart of Gstaad, Chalet Miramonti enjoys spectacular views of the mountains and Gstaad Valley. Tara Bernerd & Partners was responsible for the full interior architecture and design of the Chalet. When undertaking the project, Tara Bernerd and her team were mindful to retain the very Swiss sense of place. Some features were designed in a completely contemporary way, such as the pine panelling used throughout the ground floor, the trunk like handrails of the new glass-sided staircase, and the local grey quartzite of the fireplaces and feature walls, which was extracted from the nearby Vals quarry.
Tara Bernerd and her team were invited back in 2018 to complete the full interior architecture and design for this chalet’s extension. Continuing the narrative of the existing building, Tara Bernerd created a warm and inviting space with a focus on natural materials and luxury furniture and art pieces. Seamlessly connecting the existing building with the extension, local antique timber panels line the lobby and connecting hallways while slate, wool and sheepskin were layered to add comfort to the individual rooms.
Tara Bernerd & Partners was appointed by Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane to work on its five-star London property. Tara Bernerd and her team are responsible for the interior design of the hotel’s guest rooms. Tara Bernerd re-configured the bedroom layouts to optimise floorplans, provide much-needed storage and improve natural light levels throughout. A timeless palette of classic tones was created for a fresh yet relaxed feel. The iconic location between London’s two main parks was an immediate source of inspiration, with hints of green being incorporated to add a contemporary edge.
Having created the original restaurant at The Hari London, Tara Bernerd & Partners was invited to revisit and reimagine the design for Il Pampero to coincide with the hotel’s rebrand. Marrying Italian hospitality with the Belgravian lifestyle, Bernerd and her team created a bespoke design scheme that embraces informal luxury. Bold Vespa-green lacquers and rich velvets combine with soft leather and heritage fabrics to create a warm and inviting vibe. While circular booths are set against the back and sidewalls, the focal point is the striking central bar where diners can embrace the Italian tradition of Aperitivo.

Formerly the Hotel Russell, Starwood Capital Group commissioned Tara Bernerd & Partners as lead creative for the interior architecture and design of Kimpton Fitzroy London. Bernerd and her team re-imagined and refurbished the interior layouts and design for the entire hotel including the lobbies. Describing herself as a ‘custodian‘ of this historical property, Tara Bernerd and the team have combined elegant space planning with sensitive design to restore this landmark to its former glory. Taking into account the overall scale of the building and the ornate original features, the team incorporated more contemporary layers that soften the space to create a more textured, intimate vibe.
The Orient Star is a superyacht that Tara Bernerd & Partners was involved in designing. Tara Bernerd not only devised a full interior layout to accommodate up to ten guests but also provided a complete interior design package. To accommodate large gatherings, the decks were designed with an expansive seating area for alfresco dining, while the main salon is a stunning space for entertaining. Private cocooning spaces were also cleverly incorporated within the design, with careful focus given to the execution of the various fixtures and fittings, such as the exquisite plaited leather handrails.
Sa Torre is a villa in the heart of Mallorca with spectacular sea views. Tara Bernerd & Partners was involved with the luxury residential project from the outset. From selecting the prime plot of land through to development, construction and final delivery, Tara Bernerd and the team provided the clients with complete creative direction. The use of local materials, including sandstone blocks from the nearby quarry in Santanyi, contributed to creating a building that settled naturally into the environment. Substantial windows on all three sides of the main living area were designed to eliminate any boundaries between the outside and inside spaces, providing uninterrupted views beyond.
Tara Bernerd & Partners provided the full interior design for The Hari London (previously known as Belgraves). Using a variety of rich and tactile finishes, including Arabescato marble, graystone and smoked glass, Tara Bernerd and her team have created a warm and stylish environment, giving guests the feeling of inhabiting an original home in the heart of Belgravia.
Sabina Estates approached Tara Bernerd & Partners to do the full interior design for this south-facing villa within landscaped gardens in Ibiza. The villa is part of a private residence club 500m from the sea, complete with a clubhouse and concierge service. With an emphasis on light and space, layouts were designed to evolve and optimise the existing architecture to create gallery-style interiors. With the project selling before completion, bold finishes and natural palettes combined with a mix of Scandinavian-inspired furniture pieces create a tranquil space with a sense of pared-back luxury.
