Beata Heuman creates beautiful, comfortable rooms with playful and considered details that will bring anyone’s attention to the current moment and provide a stimulating backdrop to their everyday life. This practice enjoys playing with the quiet tension between both poetic and unexpected design while also firmly rooted in practicality and purpose. Beata Heuman’s design philosophy is rooted in the belief that a home should be a reflection of its inhabitants and a personal, intuitive and considered approach.
Beata Heuman Ltd is known for its playful, original work strongly characterised by a Scandinavian style. The studio takes a fully immersive approach – designing all aspects of interior architecture and loose furnishings. Inspiration is drawn from myriad sources, both past and present, and all projects feature a broad range of bespoke pieces. Aside from residential work, the studio has designed a number of commercial spaces including three of Farm Girl Cafe’s London outposts, as well as a surreal, Egyptian Revival themed space for the VIP lounge at 2018’s Decorex International and an auction catalogue and set for Christie’s. Born and raised in Sweden, Beata Heuman worked for Nicky Haslam for nine years before setting up her own studio in 2013.
