1- Egerton Crescent

The Egerton Crescent is commonly regarded as one of the finest addresses in Knightsbridge, and with its white stucco-fronted facades, a cherry blossom dappled shared garden around which the terrace curves and extensive private rear gardens, it’s a very private oasis in the heart of the city. The client wanted a comfortable and welcoming home for family life and a sophisticated and classic entertaining space befitting the listed architectural detailing. Katharine Pooley used a peaceful, tonal palette combining white portland stone with soft dove grey marble, polished plaster and natural fabrics – linens, silk velvets and woven textures were used throughout.

2- Ennismore Gardens

A lateral apartment overlooking one of London’s most beautiful garden squares. Katharine Pooley undertook the complete redesign of the interior including furniture, fittings and fixtures for a returning client who required a sophisticated oasis in the city. Stand out features include ornate plasterwork to the ceilings as well as beautiful Italian marble slab work to the hallways and bathrooms.

3- Historic London Property

For the design of this 40,000 sq ft majestic stucco-fronted private home, overlooking London’s leafy Hyde Park, Katharine Pooley has drawn on the property’s illustrious past. Previously an important ambassador’s residence – with dilapidated historic mouldings, marble staircases and parquet and marble flooring throughout. One of Katharine Pooley ’s most highly detailed and more opulent interiors, every facet of this jewel of a property has been designed to be reinstated, refurbished or created anew for a client with tremendous vision.

4- Knightsbridge Home

The property’s interior was meticulously refurbished and designed by Katharine Pooley over a short period of time for a returning client. The proportions and ceiling heights of the principal rooms are superb, the drawing-room is especially notable with its exquisite marble fireplace, fine plasterwork, and Murano glass chandelier. Three sets of French windows lead on to a traditional wrought iron and chequerboard-tiled balcony, providing views towards the immaculate communal gardens. Marble bathrooms, the stunning bronze lacquer kitchen, and chevron parquet floors throughout complete a highly luxurious picture of refined elegance.

5- Kuwait Villa

This stunning property based in central Kuwait City features an internal courtyard as well as extensive gardens. The goal of the Katharine Pooley team was to create a lavish but tranquil family home where the family could entertain and showcase an extensive collection of artefacts and antiques collected over the years in the Far East. KatharinePooley ’s extensive travels inspired a lot of the spaces in this villa, along with the client’s own collection.

6- Mayfair Residence

This rare gem of a property in the centre of Mayfair consists of 7 floors of the property, including a basement and a roof terrace. Previously an office, Katharine Pooley helped redevelop this Grade II listed property into a contemporary family home. The redesign included extensive building works and project management with features including a glass lift shaft, several bespoke chandeliers, hand-painted and embroidered wallpapers and complete designs for all spaces, including 7 bathrooms and a white onyx spa.

7- Princes Gate

This large lateral apartment with panoramic views overlooking London’s leafy Hyde Park was completely redesigned by Katharine Pooley for a returning client. The brief was to create an impressive and luxurious interior that played on the Art Deco facade of the property and incorporated the clients love of exquisite detail and rare finishes. Katharine Pooley used inlaid bronze detailing, classic Italian marbles and high gloss walnuts and maple woods to create a luxurious feel with strong masculine overtones in keeping with the glamorous lifestyle of this client who loves to entertain. The final result was a highly detailed and opulent interior which is the perfect backdrop for an impressive and eclectic art collection.

8- Rutland Court

This property combines Nero Marquina fireplaces, chevron timber parquet floors, large scale contemporary abstract art, textured polished plaster and silk wallpaper throughout and hand-selected sleek polished marble slabs to the bespoke made bathrooms and kitchen for a sophisticated but understated yet luxurious interior design finish. Katharine Pooley Ltd worked closely with the developer to completely reconfigure the space, this has transformed a dark and uninspiring property into a glamorous contemporary space flooded with natural light. Silk carpets, light-textured linens, cashmere and velvets were layered throughout with masculine furniture shapes, tailored upholstery and sleek joinery detailing to create a cool but luxurious retreat from the city.

9- The Clarence

A wonderful residential interior architectural design development completed by Katharine Pooley, Its proximity to royalty makes St. James’s House truly unique. It is a landmark Grade II listed building and Katharine Pooley and her team of designers and interior architects were called on to create an interior befitting the impeccable architecture while staying true to its faultless heritage. The final design has a quintessentially English feel updated to reflect the requirements of the international global elite. The brief was to transform the magnificent building into an elegant residence and return it back from the dilapidated office building it had become to its original splendour. The project has taken 5 years to complete. The use of exquisite marble, bespoke furnishings, hand-painted wallpapers and fine joinery have been used to complement the restored existing listed features such as fireplaces, mouldings, staircases and wall panelling and have resulted in an immaculate and groundbreaking finished interior.

10- The Pearl Villa

The Pearl is a magnificent contemporary coastal villa set against the sapphire crystal clear waters of the Persian Gulf. Masterminded by Katharine Pooley and her team over four years, every detail of the interior and architectural design exists in perfect harmony. The Katharine Pooley team was responsible for Project Management, Interior Architecture, Interior Design and Home Dressing. The package consisted of full architectural detailing, design and finish specification, full procurement and fit-out. The Pearl is an example of KPL’s totally turn-key service – every single detail was considered, designed and seamlessly installed. The finished design exudes a perfect balance of space, light and luxurious detail and showcases the best of British craftsmanship in an international setting.
