London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world. The Festival returns to venues and institutions across the city from 15 to 23 September of 2018. During the festival, hundreds of large-scale installations, exhibitions, and events pop up in many unique spaces across London, from world-famous museums to small local studios.

One of that events is the London Design Biennale, where people will see some of the world’s most exciting and ambitious designers, innovators and curators gather in the capital to show how design impacts on our very being and every aspect of our lives.

This year the theme of the London Design Biennale is the Emotional States. The theme has been chosen to provoke a broad interpretation across design disciplines, with immersive and engaging installations that interrogate how design affects every aspect of people’s lives the way we live and how we live but also influences our very being, emotions, and experiences.

Installations will explore the full spectrum of emotional life, from happiness to anger, sadness to disgust. Together the countries’ responses to the theme will present an exciting laboratory of ideas that will investigate the important relationship between design, strong emotional responses and real social needs.

Visitors to London Design Biennale will interact with brand new work by world-leading architects, designers, scientists, writers and artists in a broad, vibrant exhibition that includes AI and robotics, virtual reality, large-scale sculpture, immersive digital installations, performances and renderings of the future.
