MET Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. The ostensible theme of MET Gala 2015 was China, but as ever, the gala celebrating it Monday night was really and truly about the extraordinary pull of celebrity and its current symbiotic relationship with the fashion world.
Here in BRABBU we’re big fans of world cultures and we’re amazed with some of the dresses which some celebrities used actually reminding the chinese culture. Have a look at the best dressed from MET Gala 2015.
RELATED HISTORY: THE 10 MOST INFLUENTIAL WOMEN FASHION DESIGNERS
Enter Rihanna, who took to the red carpet in a fur-trimmed yellow cape with a train so long it needed three people to help carry it. The ensemble was designed by Chinese designer Guo Pei
Beyonce was also late and wore a peekaboo custom Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci covered in multicoloured crystals and stones.
Kim Kardashian most certainly embraced the evening’s vibe – in a revealing, low-cut gown with an East motif done by Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli, the designer’s first for the house.
Her little sister Kendall Jenner opted for Calvin Klein, sparkling in green with sexy laces on each side.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who made a splash on the red carpet last year in a custom Oscar de la Renta, donned a fiery head piece with long side tassels that towered high above her black gown.
And then there’s this dress from Solange Knowles…
And this one from Zendaya…
Jennifer Lopez wore red Versace with side panels that left little to the imagination and held hands with Donatella Versace on the red carpet.
A bird of paradise adorned the bottom of former glee actress Dianna Agron’s one-shoulder Tory Burch gown.
Here’s Cara Delevingne’s outfit (FYI – the tattoos are fake and her outfit is courtesy of Stella McCartney) and some of the other stars who attended.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a Versace gown.
