So to start, a big thank you to all the people that visited our ‘How we make furniture’ event at our Margaret Street showroom.
Nothing feels quite as nice as seeing something that we’ve been working on come together. More than simply meeting you all and enjoying the many an intriguing tale of design past, present and even future, we loved sharing BRABBU with you, and were so thrilled that we could introduce you all to Sara Lanca, Brabbu’s design and brand manager. She flew over from Portugal, where Brabbu are based, for the London Design Festival (Brabbu can be found at 100% Design) and was lovely enough to visit us and present to our delightful guests over a glass of wine.
Talking us through images and samples of processes and fabrics, Sara verbally illustrated how Brabbu take inspiration from nature and apply it directly to designs. If materials provide a certain finish naturally, it is embraced, not battled against. She also went on to explain how they love the luxurious, almost Gatsby inspired, feel of the contemporary vintage pieces and enjoy complimenting these delicious pieces with the nature inspired creations such as the glimmering beacon of Portuguese design that is the Koi table.
With the wine flowing and the showroom full, it was so wonderful to see a really wide variety of design lovers, professionals and critics meeting and discussing the products on display. There is nothing as stunning as what comes of the discussion between passionate people with opposing opinions. We loved meeting everyone and seeing some familiar faces. See you next year LDF.
