“This isn’t a hobby or a career, it’s who I am.” This is how Nirrimi Firebrace defines, with precision, her photographs. At first sight it’s possible to notice that this girl isn’t just another teenager behind an expensive camera and image editors. The feeling printed on her images and colours is unique, but the most impressive is that she’s only nineteen years old.
When being amused by Nirrimi’s pictures it’s only possible to wonder when this girl had time to learn so much about poetry made with images, but the answer is that there’s no answer, as she says, it’s part of her.
Before reaching 20, the Australian girl already photographed for brands like Diesel, 3Kings, Billabong and Milk & Honey. Besides being a photographer that likes and developed an alternative shoot style, she knows how to conciliate the commercial works with her sensibility. “When clients hire me, I try to keep in mind that they are hiring me because they like the way I shoot. So I try to unite their essence with my own personal style”, she reveals the simple secret.
Her personal history is amazing as her work. She started to shoot at 13, when she met Matt Caplin, also a photographer and today father of her daughter Alba. Together they travel through the world registering all the beauty of life and sharing it in a blog called “The Road is Home”.
