Yesterday, the architect Antoni Gaudí would have 161 years and today we celebrate his fantastic legacy. Best known for his work “Sagrada Família” Antoni Gaudí was the leader of Catalan Modernism. Most of his works are in the region where he was born, Catalonia, Spain.
Gaudí’s big passions in life: architecture, nature and religion have deeply marked his work which transcended the conventional Modernism, culminating in an organic style inspired by nature. Gaudí rarely drew detailed plans of his works, instead preferring to create them as three-dimensional scale models and molding the details as he was conceiving them. Also he integrated into his architecture work a series of crafts in which he was skilled: ceramics, stained glass, wrought ironwork forging and carpentry.
