Baccarat which has a long history in the production of chandeliers always had the goal of bringing together tradition and innovation, combining strong vibes from the past with a contemporary language, which can be seen amongst the various collaborations with some of the most well-known designers of our time.

From the Baccarat manufacturing plant at Lorraine, France, comes the new collection that includes Arik Levy’s “Tuile de Cristal chandelier”. This piece makes its first appearance at Milan’s Design Week, at Palazzo Morando.

The creation process was slightly different this time. The French designer conceived a single element, a crystal tile in two styles: frozen and picadilly. He picked up the tiles and arranged them in multiple fragments, surrounding a metal frame with various diameters.

Concerning to the crystal tiles two different styles, the first one suffered cuts in a chaotic way, creating prisms that allow diffusing the light in a dynamic way and the other one is simpler using parallel cuts recalling the history of glass cutting and the company’s history. The important thing here is that the refined raw material allows the user to customize the piece in order to make the best use of its aesthetic and lighting qualities.
